Yule Ball Hermione Granger

From Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

I'm actually not a big fan of Hermione's Yule Ball dress, but I thought it would be a fun custom challenge. Hermione is made from Tara's body, (Dopplegangland) Willow's head and Reunion Darla's arms. She has no articulation.

I took off Tara's jacket and sculpted the dress, neck and hair. I didn't really until after all of the sculpting was done that you can actually seen the sleeves on Darla's arms. Grrr! That is probably what I am most upset about about this figure. I didn't have the heart to break the sleeves to put on new arms.

Personally, I really like how the painting on the dress came out. I tried really hard to get a light feeling on the ruffles and the different tones in the dress. I also applied a light coat of silver to the bodice and front of the dress, to get the satiny feel of Hermione's dress. I think the likeness to Emma Watson is pretty good (or I did, because I saw the amazing figures that are going to be coming out). All in all, I'm really happy with her.
