Sirius Black

From Through the Veil RPG

I adore my friend JJ, who played Sirius in both First War and Through the Veil. To show her how much I loved her, I decided to make her a custom 12-inch Sirius from Through the Veil. In the game, Sirius was represented by Hugh Jackman.

I should explain the outfit... In Through the Veil was engaged to Yuki Maeda. Yuki has strong ties to her Japanese heritage and practices Mahou Genkotsu, which she's taught to Sirius. To make the doll REALLY Sirius-from-TTV as opposed to just Sirius, I decided to dress him as if he was sparring with his fiancee.

Sirius was made from a Van Helsing doll, with Angelus hands. I took off his original hair and sculpted new stuff. Then I repainted his face and made his clothing. The clothes were made entirely from scratch. I even had to make the pattern myself, since I could find no doll-sized hakama and gi patterns (that didn't cost a lot of money).

I chose to put Sirius in a red gi, to reflect him being in Gryffindor (as I put Yuki in blue to signify she was a former Ravenclaw).

Sirius comes with a sword and sheathe (the sword actually does go into the sheathe, which is cool).

Unfortunately, JJ told me the hair was broken when he arrive *frown*. But she's hopeful about being able to repair him. I hope it works out, because I think he turned out great!
